All day, Uncle Stash has been studying his Polish and trying it out on all of the locals we meet, like our waiters, store owners, etc. I think he just likes knowing more than the rest of us. Everyone he speaks to in Polish is very impressed and it made our waitress’ day at dinner.
I’m slowly but surely still picking different phrases up. I am nowhere near as quick and as smooth as Uncle Stash when I try to use the new words, but hey, it’s still progress (and much better than mom is doing, that’s for sure!)
Tonight, Mom and I stayed behind in the main square after dinner when most people went back to the hotel. It’s easy to lose track of time in a place you want to spend every moment in.
The nightlife in the main square is just as amazing as the day time. There are all kinds of music and concerts being played, horse-drawn carriages strolling by, and beautifully lit up buildings that have been there for centuries.
It’s sort of like an old, European, less-crowded, cleaner version of New York City, which I love as well, especially at night.
When we realized it was 10 o’clock already, we decided we should head back to the hotel since we have another long day tomorrow. I’m getting much better at figuring out how to navigate through cities on this trip!
Today was one of my favorite days so far and I’m excited to get to tour Krakow even more tomorrow. Do Jutra! (until tomorrow)
