Finally things have turned up! Uncle Ray and Katie came back to where Mom and I were waiting and told us they found Grandma and Grandpa. After the taxi driver dropped them off on the wrong side of the street, they wandered around for about 30 minutes looking for us before heading back to the hotel having given up, which is where Uncle Ray found them.
When Uncle Ray and Katie came back to where we were waiting, we all decided to finally go on the sightseeing tour (sans Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Stash, and Aunt Lorraine) two hours later than we had originally planned. The tour was nice and we got to see a lot of Warsaw.
After the tour, the four of us went to the mall food court to eat lunch knowing they would have food Katie and I like. Mom and I had Italian food, Katie got KFC, and Uncle Ray had a salad. We got ice cream after that and found out that “one scoop” in Poland is much, much smaller than “one scoop” in America.
We ran into Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Stash on the way back to the hotel so we all walked back together and they told us Grandma had just gone out to buy some new clothes since all of hers were in her lost luggage. We were worried about how that would go because after visiting the mall, we saw there was nothing in there that Grandma would wear.
When we got back to the hotel, Grandma came into our room shortly after we got settled in. She started telling us this elaborate story (for those of you that know Grandma you know how dramatic her stories can be) about trying to find clothes at TJ Maxx and how she couldn’t find anything. She ended the story with “and when we got back to the hotel the concierge told me they found my suitcase.” All of us were so relieved for her. We couldn’t believe they had actually found her suitcase!
We are now relaxing in our rooms before going to the welcome dinner for our tour. More posts to come!
